Grading System

Here at Phones From Home in Boston, Lincolnshire, we grade our secondhand phones based on common industry practices – so A through C. We have developed a detailed procedure for our crew to ensure the highest level of consistency so that our customers have confidence that when say a phone is Grade B – it will be in a predictable condition.

Below are the descriptions of each grade.

It’s important to note that all our phones are fully working models and they will not have missing parts or broken screens. So Grading is really about how the device looks and feels.

Our process includes cleaning the phone and removing all content possible for each and every phone.

Grade Description

A ) While clearly a used device the phone will be in excellent cosmetic condition. The front and rear housing will show little or no sign of wear, no cracks present. One would look at such a device and think “its owner really loved this item” or “this device is almost new”.

B ) Indicates the device will be in good overall condition. The front and rear housing will show signs of wear and may have some scratches present from general day to day use. One would look at such a device and think “its owner took good care of this – or didn’t use it much”. The screen will be clear or mostly clear.

C ) Indicates the device will be in average or worn /poor cosmetic condition. The front and rear housing may have scratches or cracks however the screen will be intact and full working order. The housing may have some spots that are dull from wear (such as from a case) to the point of paint coming off on corners. The screen will most likely have a number of hairline marks and some scratches. One would look at such a device  and think “this is a well used phone, but with a cover it will look fine”
